Paris, Texas - Turner Industries Participates in United Way Day of Caring - Tuesday, May 25, 2010
|
|
Turner Industries employees at the Paris, Texas Pipe
Fabrication facility participated in a United Way Day of Caring project to
erect a parking garage for the local American Red Cross chapter, simultaneously
helping a Boy Scout on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout.
The "weld and erect” project was organized by Matthew
Draeger, age 13, as part of his requirement to become an Eagle Scout. The
framing project turned out to be more complex than originally anticipated,
taking two days to complete, as each beam, cross piece and rafter had to be
measured and cut to a different length.
This completes the first phase of the project. Walls and a roof will be added in July to finish off the
garage.
A big thank you to all our employees who helped make this
project a success.
