Turner Industries Participates in Heart Walk - Monday, March 29, 2010
|
|

The Annual Capital Area American Heart Walk was held on
March 27, 2010 in Baton Rouge, LA.
This year’s Event Chairman was Stephen Toups, Corporate Vice President
of Turner Industries. As the No. 1 killer in the U.S. and even the world,
cardiovascular diseases impact millions of families, friends and loved
ones. The goal of $1 million was
met and the funds will be used to support projects like
· Putting
up-to-the-minute research into doctors’ hands so they can better prevent and
treat heart disease among patients.
·
Groundbreaking pediatric heart and stroke research. About 36,000 babies
are born with heart defects each year —research is the key to saving babies’
lives.
· Getting
life-saving information to those who need it most – information that can save a
life, like how to eat better, how to recognize the warning signs of heart
attack, and how to talk to a doctor about critical health choices.
A big thank you to all Turner Industries employees who gave
financial support and participated in the walk.
