|
Turner Industries, Lake Charles
Operations, received the "Best in Class” for contractor safety performance,
presented by the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana, at their awards banquet
held June 22, 2010. A combination
of fixed objective points awarded against information provided in the
application, plus bonus points given for the quality of the presentation and
content of the application materials, as well as extra efforts toward enhancing
safety within the company are evaluated for the Best in Class award. Special value is given to those
companies that provide detailed supplementary documentation of any special or
unusual best practice programs the contractor has that encourage and support employee
involvement in their Safety and Health programs. This includes, but is not limited to areas such as behavior
based safety programs, safety involvement incentive initiatives, risk
identification programs, job site safety programs and safety training beyond
the minimal required. Also included is Supervisor training and
development. The Safety Review
audit provides an evaluation and recommendation to the review team and the Best
in Class award is decided by the vote of the Awards Review Team.
BEST IN CLASS: David Franks, Sr. Vice President,
Turner Industries, Lake Charles Operations, accepts the award for "Best in
Class” for contractor safety performance from Bob McCorquodale, Chief Executive
Officer of the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana, at an award banquet, June
