CR-2/NHT Turnaround Project

With $500,000 of client revenue at risk for every day the catalytic reformer 2 and the Naptha hydrotreater units were out of operation and not producing gasoline, the very aggressive, 35-day schedule was the most critical piece of the CR-2/NHT Turnaround project.

Turner Industries worked with Motiva Enterprises to plan, schedule, and execute the turnaround which included work on 54 exchangers, demolition and installation of 73 different pipe jobs, columns, furnaces and other equipment.

Turner managed the master schedule of 30,000 activities for 27 subcontractors throughout the project.

The turnaround was one of the most successful in Motiva history, with a work schedule of two shifts per day, seven days a week. Staffing peaked at 500 per shift working over 363,000 direct exposure hours, which were completed safely with zero recordable injuries.
