Welding School Training

The St. James Parish Career and Technology center is offering training in welding as part of the Industrial Maintenance program. Juniors and seniors from Lutcher High School and St. James High School can enroll in this class. In the welding segment, students are learning proper welding techniques needed to pass the entry level welding test. Allen Carlos, Brent Keller, and Rodney Landry, with Turner Company L.L.C. at Shell / Motiva Norco, are providing assistance with periodic instruction, inspections and materials. Lane Beard, St. James Career and Technology Center Industrial Maintenance instructor, states that with the assistance of Turner Company the program success has risen to a new level.
