Turner Industries Named “Texas and Louisiana’s 2013 Contractor of the Year”

Turner Industries has been named the 2013 Texas and Louisiana Contractor of the Year by Engineering-News Record Magazine (ENR). The award is for a variety of 2012 accomplishments including regional revenue peaks, greatly expanded services, and an impressive safety record.  In 2012 Turner Industries employees worked a record 40,534,013 hours with a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of .38. Also noted in the award’s announcement is Turner Industries’ win of both the 2012 national Construction Users Round Table (CURT) Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award and the 2012 CURT Workforce Development Award.

The CURT Workforce Development Award highlighted Turner Industries’ regional leadership in skilled craft workforce recruitment and development. Through the years, the company has partnered with technical colleges, industry alliances, and non-profits throughout the Gulf South. Thomas Turner, Turner Industries President and Vice Chairman, attributes the “Contractor of the Year” award to “a combination of improved market conditions, the addition of several new specialty services, and ongoing solid performance in the field by a seasoned operations team who have established a reputation for good work and integrity through the years.”
