Turner Industries Receives Two National ‘Excellence’ Awards

Maui, Hawaii – February 11, 2014 – Dave Ellerbe, senior vice president of Turner Industries’ Construction Division, accepted the 2013 Associated Builders and Contractors’ National Excellence in Construction Eagle Award in the Industrial – Less than $5 Million category for work performed on the Merisol C-21 Column Replacement project in Houston, Texas.  Turner was contracted to design, fabricate, transport and install a 100-ton, 206’ long ASME Code Distillation Column.  This enormous vessel was fabricated at Turner’s facility in Decatur, Ala. then transported over four (4) states and installed at the Merisol site in Houston.

Carlos Guidry, Turner project manager and Ricky Bergeron, Turner site manager, accepted the National Excellence in Construction Eagle Award in the Mechanical – More than $10 Million category for work performed on the Alen Central Processing Platform project in Amelia, La.  Despite many obstacles including additional scope, late deliveries and an inflexible shipping date, Turner’s work on this project was an outstanding success completed on time and with ZERO Recordable injuries.
