Mark’s journey with Turner Industries began in 2006, when Turner took over the maintenance and small capital projects contracts at Shell – Deer Park Refining Complex in Texas. Mark was a maintenance carpenter foreman at the time. “With Turner, I immediately felt the family-like atmosphere. The senior leaders were very approachable which impressed me to say the least.”
Over the next few years through hard work and perseverance, Mark was recognized as a potential future leader, promoted to maintenance civil coordinator and later invited to attend Turner’s “Voice of Leadership” class. “That has been my favorite experience with Turner so far. It challenged me and all who attended but it gave us a chance to get to know our senior leaders better and see another side of them. It was very rewarding.” Since completing the class, he has made further career advancements, currently holding the position of maintenance and turnaround manager at the Shell—Deer Park.
A former Marine, Mark has lived his life in service to others. Twenty years ago, he donated a kidney to his younger brother, enabling his brother to live a normal life. Today, he enjoys spending time with his family and spoiling the newest addition—his granddaughter.
