Talking with Sketch Puller, Clevon Hargrove

Clevon Hargrove has made his life a success story by continually setting new goals for himself and making it his mission to achieve those goals. As a family man who started his job at Turner Industries almost seven years ago, he says it is the “family atmosphere” within the company that keeps him at Turner.

Clevon, a sketch puller, works in the receiving department at Turner’s Pasadena, Texas pipe fabrication facility. He is responsible for ensuring the right materials are pulled and tagged for the fabricators. Over the years his knowledge of materials and attention to their unique details has developed and grown, making him of a materials expert.

Putting others first is very important to Clevon. He has always been a generous contributor to our annual company-wide United Way campaign and that’s why co-workers were very excited when Clevon’s name was drawn for a $1,000 cash prize at our annual fundraising participation prize-drawing. Although this prize was one for the books, Clevon is usually “fishing” for a different type of prize. A nice big red drum, croaker, or sheephead fish are among his favorite trophies.

What advice would you give to people who aspire to work at Turner?
Never give up on a goal you have for yourself and don’t let anyone try to stop you from going after your personal goals.
