Turner Industries’ “Crew of the Month” recognition program highlights and celebrates exceptional performance in safety, quality, or production. Each month, an individual or team will be selected who has demonstrated outstanding achievement.

Crew of the Month for February 2026

Reformer Maintenance Crew

We recognize the reformer maintenance crew for their attentiveness and professionalism while replacing pipe straps in the unit. During the task, the crew identified a condition that warranted additional review before proceeding and paused work so the line could be evaluated. Their attention to detail and willingness to verify conditions reflect the disciplined approach and ownership Turner crews bring to every job.

Crew of the Month for January 2026

Sphere 531 Fireproofing Removal

This Turner Industries rope access crew was recently recognized for their performance supporting work on Sphere 531. This team set the tone through strong rope access planning, detailed safety action plans, and active field involvement to identify and control hazards before work began. Their preparation, ownership of the plan, and disciplined execution ensured the job was completed safely and without incident.

Coker Unit Team

Turner’s Coker Unit Team is recognized for outstanding commitment to safety and reliability. Throughout 2025, the team consistently delivered disciplined execution while supporting multiple outages and priority work. Their responsiveness on short notice for emergency needs, along with dependable weekend support, has made them a trusted resource when urgent work arises. This level of performance represents the standard we value and appreciate across our crews.

Tank 19 Rolloff Box Inspection

We are proud to recognize the Tank 19 team for their professionalism and attention to detail. During inspection of a rolloff box tied to the blind-removal task, the team identified a hole on the side of the box before it was placed into service. Their prompt action ensured it was removed safely and prevented a potential environmental issue.

CV1 Heater Maintenance

LeJawn Celestine leads this three-man crew, setting and maintaining high expectations with his initiative and strong work ethic. Their collective ownership, experience, and attention to detail in heater maintenance have consistently impressed industry peers.

Crew of the Month for September 2025

K1, K1B & K80 Window Mitigation

The employees from Brett Oakman’s crew who safely and efficiently worked on the K1, K1B and K80 Window Mitigation project are September’s Crew of the Month. With a combination of scaffolds and manlifts and constant foot traffic in and around the area, they were able to to finish the upgrades and repairs, keeping safety a top priority.

Tank 330 Leg Removals

We proudly recognize our T-330 crew for outstanding performance on a demanding assignment. The team successfully removed 33 legs from the floating roof of Tank 330 under fresh air, coordinating heavy equipment, extensive air hoses, and strict environmental controls.

Their sustained productivity and focus under challenging conditions ensured the work was completed safely and on schedule, reflecting the resilience, professionalism, and teamwork that distinguish this crew.

C.L.A.W. Response Support

Turner commends the crews who worked alongside Citgo during last month’s emergency response at the CLAW facility. Our team collaborated across work areas, providing assistance under Citgo’s direction and helping maintain operational focus and continuity during this critical situation. We value their professionalism and are grateful for the opportunity to support Citgo during this important response.

Crew of the Month for June 2025

Stormwater Drain Line Replacement

We would like to recognize this team at CITGO Lake Charles for their outstanding work on the recent stormwater drain line replacement project. The crew successfully replaced over 600 feet of 18-inch piping. The project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule with no environmental or safety incidents. This crew exemplifies the high standards we uphold at Turner Industries.

Crew of the Month for May 2025

Coker 1 Team

This May, we’re recognizing the exceptional 30-person Turner crew from Sulphur, Louisiana, for their outstanding work on the CITGO Coker 1 Outage/Sluiceway Rail Repair project. This team not only completed the project significantly ahead of schedule and under budget, but they also did it with a perfect safety record, achieving zero recordable incidents. Their scope of work included demolishing and disposing of 430 linear feet of concrete, salvaging and reinforcing existing rebar, and securing new foundations.

Carl Lockhart, CITGO Construction Manager, had high praise for the crew, stating, “Overall the project performance from Turner was excellent, and that reflects directly on the supervision that was involved from the planning stages and throughout the outage. Turner supervision did an outstanding job staying ahead on making sure the crews had everything they needed to perform the task for each shift without delays. Thanks again for all of the hard work and effort that was put into this project to make it a success.”
