The heartbeat of Turner Industries’ Crane & Rigging division continues in operation today at the site referred to internally as the “Nichols or Mason Street Yard.” Begun at that location in 1961 when Founder, Bert Turner, placed the high bid for Nichols Construction Company’s equipment at a bankruptcy auction, Turner Industries continues to pride itself on its Crane & Rigging Services. Having developed and expanded services to meet the needs of industrial customers throughout the entire country and beyond, Turner Industries provides crane and equipment rental, specialized rigging and heavy hauling services in a fair, professional and ethical manner for the mutual benefit of customers, employees and suppliers.
The Crane & Rigging division continually provides extensive employee training, management support and safety audits. Operators are certified through NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators). And drivers operate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Administration guidelines—recording over 1 million miles annually, yet remaining well below the national average for out-of-service violations. Turner Industries employees are not only training in accordance with OSHA regulations, but are provided generous incentives to stay safe. Yes, safety is that important.
