Multi-Team Turner Effort Completes Lubrizol Tank Project

Turner Industries completed a five-month renovation project at the Lubrizol facility in Pasadena, Texas, which included tank work. The job was completed with the help of various Turner teams, including the capital projects, SIPA, and crane and rigging groups, as well as the Turner Specialty Services NDE and inspections group.

Turner demolished a tank and its pump, installed a new nitrogen line, and then installed a new tank. The team also installed and replaced safety features such as the pressure and relief valves. Additionally, Turner added a steam jacket to regulate the temperature of the tanks and replaced numerous other pipes and valves. The project required over 18,000 work hours and included 57 safety checks. With a crew of up to 55 people working on-site, the project was completed without any close calls, first aid incidents, or recordable accidents.

The teamwork was excellent between Turner and Lubrizol, and we appreciate Lubrizol’s dedication and support,” said Turner Industries Maintenance Superintendent Jim Wilson. “Everyone showed up with a positive attitude and put in the effort to finish the project safely.
