TSS: A Track Record of Success in Environmental Solutions
From managing complex environmental projects in chemical facilities to providing turnkey industrial support in manufacturing plants and handling millions of cubic yards of materials for pulp and paper manufacturers, Turner Specialty Services (TSS) delivers customized, sustainable solutions that drive efficiency and environmental compliance across diverse sectors.
Here are a few examples of how TSS provides environmental solutions with a nationwide reach:

Chemical
In Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas, TSS manages environmental projects for a chemical manufacturing company at several facilities. TSS performs dredging and dewatering of lined/unlined surface impoundments. These dewatering programs include waste minimization and byproduct recovery for beneficial reuse. TSS has safely treated over 20 million gallons of wastewater using innovative technologies at these facilities, reducing offsite disposal costs. In one state, TSS has operated at a single site for more than 30 years, maintaining dewatering systems that reclaim process byproducts for reuse as a state-exempted agricultural soil amendment.

Manufacturing
TSS has been an incident-free nested contractor at a manufacturing facility in southeastern North Carolina since 2017. TSS provides a wide range of environmental maintenance and industrial support services at the facility, including impoundment dredging, dewatering, landfill maintenance, levee construction, and dam structure maintenance.
TSS also builds and maintains levees and dams for landfills and ponds, supplements facility maintenance and is available for emergency services. They effectively utilize facility byproducts to maintain roads, staging areas, and levees, and convert sludge for on-site construction projects. TSS manages landfills, conducts inspections and reporting, monitors and maintains pipelines, and performs grounds upkeep.

Pulp and Paper
In Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Georgia, TSS manages environmental and industrial support services for a pulp and paper manufacturer’s facilities across the U.S., handling over 10 million cubic yards of materials annually. This also includes surface impoundment maintenance (sediment dredging, dewatering), landfill management (waste collection, transport, operation), safety and administrative oversight, material screening and classification, new landfill cell construction, surveys and documentation, stormwater management, civil construction, recycling and reuse, and 24/7 supplemental support (rail switching, material handling, equipment maintenance).
Additionally, TSS reuses dredge spoils from impoundments for construction fill and cap enhancement through a patented stabilization process.
