Turner Industries Named No. 1 on ABC’s 2026 Top Performers List
BATON ROUGE, La. — Turner Industries has once again earned the No. 1 ranking on Associated Builders and Contractors’ 2026 Top Performers list. This annual publication, established in 2018, recognizes the outstanding achievements of the association’s contractor members in health and safety, quality and project excellence, ranked by number of hours worked.
“Being recognized as No. 1 on ABC’s Top Performers list for another year is an incredible honor,” said Turner Industries CEO Stephen Toups. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our more than 20,000 employees who bring their best to work every day. It’s also inspiring to see the Gulf Coast so well-represented on this list, which shows the shared commitment we all have to excellence and safety in this industry.”
As an ABC Top Performer, Turner Industries achieved Gold status or higher in ABC’s STEP® Health and Safety Management System, which helps the best-performing contractors achieve incident rates nearly seven times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average, according to ABC’s Health and Safety Performance Report. Turner Industries has also earned ABC’s Accredited Quality Contractor credential, which recognizes excellence in quality, health and safety performance, talent management, craft and management education and community relations.
“Contractors like Turner Industries—which build the most enduring, innovative, high-quality construction projects—develop smart strategies that create a clear path for success, regardless of the circumstances,” said Michael Bellaman, ABC president and CEO. “ABC Top Performers all share commonalities like participation in ABC’s STEP® Health and Safety Management System and ABC’s Accredited Quality Contractor credential. They find opportunity amid uncertainty, embrace competition, cultivate positive company culture, prioritize safety and total human health, invest in leadership and workforce development and implement new technologies. Congratulations to Turner Industries for being an employer of choice.”
